Handcrafted botanical soaps made with wild herbs, berries, lichens & fungi. These cold processed soap bars contain zero synthetic fragrances, colours, petroleum-based chemicals. What you see is what you get. The wild ingredients in each soap bar are sustainably hand-foraged by Laughing Lichen in Canada’s north.

Biodegradable, vegan, cruelty-free and made at an “off-the-grid” manufacturing facility in the Northwest Territories.  Each soap bar can be used as a shaving bar, or body soap bar as well as a hand-washing soap bar.

Arctic Rose & Cranberry Wild Cranberries, rosehips, rose petals, and pure lavender oil make this soap almost edible. The botanical ingredients in this soar bar are loaded with antioxidants and add a light exfoliant while the lavender oil brings calming thoughts.

• Ingredients olive oil, coconut oil, Aqua, wild cranberries (Vaccinium vitis-idaea), wild rosehips, wild rose petals (Rosa spp.), lavender essential oil, sodium hydroxide (used in soap making process but not present in final product)

Devil's Club To make this soap, our wild harvested devil’s club root gets crushed in a blender and infused in olive oil and coconut oil. The devil’s club root bark bits are still present in the finished product. This combination makes for a mildly exfoliating, yet soothing soap bar. Some individuals are especially sensitive to Devil’s Club. As with any new natural product please test on a small patch of skin prior to use to rule out allergies.

Fir & Nettle The fir in this soap has an amazing aroma somewhat like a Christmas tree crossed with a mandarin orange. Wild nettle is well documented for its nourishing properties and aiding in circulation. The nettle and fir tips are harvested in early summer along the banks of the Skeena River in Northern, BC. This soap has a great lather and can be used as a shaving bar or full body bar.

• Ingredients Olive oil, virgin coconut oil, aqua, wild fir needles oil (Abies sp.), wild stinging nettle (Uritca dioica), sodium hydroxide (used in soap making process but not present in final product)

Juniper & Lichen The wild lichen in this scrubby soap bar acts as a gentle exfoliant for your skin. It also has an excellent lather. Lichens are known to have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, while juniper has astringent properties that compliment problem skin. This soap has a woody, peppery, conifer like smell due to the infusion of wild juniper berries and wild juniper berry essential oil.

Mad Trapper Not only does this soap smell like the boreal forest, it will help ward away those pesky insects that drive us wild on a hot day in the bush. Infused with wild black spruce and labrador tea.

Mint & Fireweed Infused with hand harvested fireweed and wild field mint. Invigorating, yet refreshing. Wild mint can be used to ward away mosquitoes and black-flies!

• Ingredients Extra virgin olive oil, virgin coconut oil, wild fireweed blossom and leaf (C. angustifolium), wild field mint (Mentha arvensis), peppermint essential oil (Metha arvensis)

Poplar Bud Each spring, Laughing Lichen harvests the new leaf growth from wild poplar trees called “poplar buds” and carefully dry them to preserve their natural properties and pleasant aromas.

Sweetgrass Wild sweetgrass is hand harvested by Laughing Lichen each summer then carefully dried to preserve its rich vanilla scent. To make this soap the sweetgrass is infused in olive oil to extract its skin soothing properties.

Labrador Tea Mint + Rosemary (Dry Hair) This shampoo bar is formulated to keep dry hair hydrated and shiny. The rosemary and mint essential oils help with hair growth and itching. Other oils like castor, coconut, and olive also help hydrate the scalp.

Clay, Nettle + Balsam Fir (Oily Hair) This botanical shampoo bar is formulated to improve oily hair. Fir essential oil has a fresh, woody aroma. It energizes hair follicles and stimulates the scalp. Stinging nettle extract aids in regulating sebum production and is said to relieve oily dandruff. Grapeseed oil is a light moisturizing oil which produces a creamy, stable lather. Castor oil hydrates hair and scalp and contains vitamin E and fatty acids. Rhassoul clay cleanses hair and scalp by removing toxins, oil and product build up. Olive oil and coconut oil are cleansing and conditioning.
