Poppy Keffiyeh Scarf

Product Description

Beautiful, silky scarfs by Sarah Musa, a Palestinian Korean designer based in the US.

From Sarah:

"Our scarf is inspired by the traditional Palestinian Kefiyyah (Hatta) known to represent resistance.

Made of the softest high quality natural fibers, we chose a lightweight blend that is 70% cotton and 30% mulberry silk.

Each scarf is printed and hand sewn by a team of women at a small eco-factory in Türkiye.

The meaning behind the print:

Poppyseed flower: is the official national flower of Palestine. It is a symbol of the longing to return and mirrors the colors of the Palestinian flag.

Center fishnet pattern: represents Palestinian fishermen and the Mediterranean Sea

Solid lines: represents the rich history of cultural exchange and trade routes through Palestine

Border pattern: represents olive leaves from our olive trees which are a sign of strength, resilience, & perseverance

Our national flower in Palestine is the poppyseed. Using the traditional Palestinian Kefiyyah known to represent resistance, we have incorporated our national poppyseed flower into the fishnet pattern making this one-of-a-kind and unique print.  Poppyseed flowers can be seen in fields across Palestine and incorporate the colors of the Palestinian flag.

100% of profits (from the direct sales from the Sarah Musa website) will be donated to urgent relief efforts in Palestine via: Palestine Red Crescent Society & Palestine Children's Relief Fund"
