These hull-less oats are a versatile, rich-flavoured alternative to ordinary oats, no salt required.
Enjoy uncooked: Soak ½ cup cold rolled oats in ½ cup milk or water overnight in fridge (or, as we do, 10-15 minutes in the morning). Add chopped fruit, nuts, toasted granola of choice, and a dollop of yoghurt. Ready before you’re awake!
For unique oatmeal: Bring 1 part cold rolled oats in 2 parts water to boil, cover and simmer gently for 5 minutes (or longer). Remove from heat, leave covered for 5-20 minutes, allowing liquid to absorb fully. Enjoy! **Hint: this oatmeal retains its texture well after cooking, so make a big batch one day, refrigerate/frozen portions for re-heating the rest of the week!**
Will froth up in microwave, so use 2-4 separate 30-second bursts of oats 1:1 with water, covered, in steep sided bowl; rest to allow moisture to be absorbed.
